Relaunch and Purpose

I first registered this website in November 2005. Over time, it transitioned into a relatively generic personal blog. I chronicled my taste in music and television shows (including speculation about the fate of Arrested Development), among other things. The old blog was an interesting outlet, but it lacked focus and grew relatively inactive over the last two years. As a result, I took it down and replaced it with a landing page.

In the last month or so, I’ve decided to reclaim my little corner of the internet. After studying some CSS best practices, I handcrafted a new landing page that emphasizes good typography coupled with a simple, minimalistic layout. It also links to my tumblr, where I can share interesting finds without polluting the focus of a blog.

Most recently, I’ve made the decision to relaunch this blog. All of my old entries are safely archived, but removed from this current revision. Rather than look to the past, I want this site to exist in the moment and build a richer history.

What will I focus on? Improvisation and its application to daily life. I believe everyone can benefit from taking improv classes, even if they have no interest in becoming an actor or a comedian. In fact, I led a discussion at SXSW Interactive 2011 about that very subject. I’m passionate about improvisation and confident I can extract several great lessons from it. Stay tuned, I plan to update often.
